Pakistan’s Embassy in Ankara organized a special event on Thursday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye Yousaf Junaid hosted Turkish dignitaries, including Ankara Governor Vasip Sahin, Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavas, Turkish lawmaker Ali Sahin, who also heads an inter-parliamentary friendship group between Ankara and Islamabad, as well as dignitaries from academia, business and media at a traditional Pakistani brunch.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Sahin said that centuries-old brotherly and strategic relations between the two nations are not only a source of mutual strength but also serve as an anchor for regional stability under the direction and vision of the leadership of both countries.

Yavas, for his part, underlined that Pakistan and Türkiye enjoy “deep-rooted” historical, cultural and brotherly ties and this friendship would grow stronger in the years to come based on “shared values and mutual interests.”

In his remarks, Vasip Sahin said that Pakistan and Türkiye relations are “exemplary” as both countries have always stood together in times of need and have consistently supported each other on regional and global platforms.

Congratulating the Turkish nation for the anniversary, Junaid said: “The centenary of the Republic is a testament to the unwavering commitment and vision of the Turkish leadership and people, who have worked tirelessly to build a prosperous and democratic nation despite serious challenges.”

The ambassador also highlighted that under the “visionary” leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Türkiye’s progress and development achieved new heights and the country emerged as a “strong and prosperous” nation.

Highlighting “glorious” Pakistan-Türkiye bilateral relations, the ambassador reiterated that ‘One Nation-Two States’ best describes the fraternal ties between the two nations, founded on “common religious, cultural and linguistic affinities and a shared history.”
