ANKARA
The Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen on Sunday finished the 2023 season of the Formula One World Championship on the top.
The Dutch driver won the last race of the season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with 1 hour 27 minutes 02.624 seconds to secure his 19th win in 22 races.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished 17.993 seconds behind, while George Russell of Mercedes came third with 20.328 seconds back.
Sergio Perez demoted to fourth place in the finish, although he passed the line behind his teammate Verstappen, due a five-second time penalty for a clash with McLaren’s Lando Norris.
Verstappen finished the season with 575 points, while Perez came second with 285 and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton sit at the third spot with 234 points.
Red Bull topped the constructor standings with 860 points, while Mercedes secured second spot with 409, and Ferrari was third with 406 points.
