Bagnaia wins back-to-back MotoGP World Championship

Francesco Bagnaia was crowned the 2023 MotoGP World Champion on Sunday.

Ducati’s Italian rider, who had previously clinched back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023, won the Valencia Grand Prix with 40 minutes 58.5350 seconds time.

The 26-year-old won the season with 467 points, while Prima Pramac’s Jorge Martin placed second with 428 points and Mooney VR46 Racing’s Marco Bezzecchi finished the season third with 329 points.

He won 15 podiums in the season to become the Ducati rider with the most podiums in a single season, passing Casey Stoner’s 14 podium record.

Bagnaia became the fourth Italian rider with more than one premier-class world title after Giacomo Agostini (8), Valentino Rossi (7) and Umberto Masetti (2).
