LeBron James ties Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most career NBA All-Star games

ISTANBUL 

LeBron James earned his 19th All-Star selection tying the legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most career NBA All-Star Game appearances.

“James — the leading overall vote-getter — will be the captain of one of the teams for the Feb. 19 All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, while Eastern Conference voting leader Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks will captain the other side,” NBA said in a statement.

James, the 38-year-old Lakers star, is also 157 points away from drawing level with Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time NBA scoring record of 38,387 career points.

Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo and LA Lakers forward James will captain the NBA All-Star Game teams.

The 72nd NBA All-Star Game will be held at Vivint Arena, home of the Utah Jazz on Feb. 19.

Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics),
