ISTANBUL
France midfielder N’Golo Kante has signed a three-year contract with Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad.
The contract was finalized on Tuesday after Kante’s medical tests in Dubai, the club based in Jeddah said in a statement on Wednesday.
The move is part of efforts to be established as a “top choice” for world-class players in the Saudi Professional League, the statement added.
The team wished Kante success in achieving its goals and fulfilling the expectations of fans and supporters.
The 2018 World Cup winner joined Chelsea in 2016 from Leicester City, and his contract expires at the end of June.
The 32-year-old helped the Blues win a UEFA Champions League title, a Europa League trophy, and a Super Cup.
He will join compatriot and Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, who left Real Madrid after 14 years and agreed to a three-year deal with Al-Ittihad earlier this month.
