Germany star Jamal Musiala scored a first-half screamer as German Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich fought hard to win at St. Pauli 1-0 on Saturday.
After 22 minutes, Musiala, a Bayern Munich attacking midfielder since 2020, won the ball after tackling his opponent and then scored a long-range goal to give the visitors a 1-0 lead at Hamburg’s Millerntor Stadium. St. Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj plunged but Musiala beat him.
Bayern Munich secured the win to be five points clear of RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich have 26 points and remain unbeaten in 10 matches in the German league.
Second-place RB Leipzig have 21 points after they had a goalless draw with Borussia Monchengladbach at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday.
St. Pauli have eight points and are ranked 15th in the standings.
