Copenhagen earn narrow win over Galatasaray to advance to Champions League last 16

Copenhagen earned a narrow win over Galatasaray on Tuesday to advance to the UEFA Champions League last 16. –

Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the first half, but Lukas Lerager made a close-range finish to score the winner for the Danish club in the 58th minute.

Elias Achouri assisted him at Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium.

However, Copenhagen were down to 10 men after their midfielder Lerager was sent off in stoppage time.

In another Group A match, Bayern Munich beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, with the only goal coming from Kingsley Coman in the 70th minute.

Group A leaders Bayern Munich have 16 points, second-place Copenhagen have collected eight points and Galatasaray dropped into the Europa League with five points.

Fourth-place Manchester United collected four points and was eliminated from all European competitions.

Arsenal, PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid, Napoli, Real Sociedad and Inter Milan moved to the Champions League Round of 16.

Lens, Braga, Benfica and Galatasaray dropped into the Europa League.
