Bayern Munich signed South Korean defender Kim Min-jae from Italian club Napoli, the German champions announced on Tuesday.
Kim, 26, has signed a five-year contract that will expire in June 2028, Bayern Munich said in a statement.
The central defender is said to wear the number 3 shirt for the club, which won the German Bundesliga for 11 years in a row.
Kim, a former Fenerbahce player, helped Napoli win the Italian Serie A title last season. He was also named the Serie A’s best defender in his first season at Napoli.
“FC Bayern is a dream for every footballer. I’m really looking forward to what’s to come in Munich. It’s a new beginning for me. I’ll continue to develop here,” Kim told Bayern Munich.
“…My first goal is to play a lot of games. In addition, I want to win as many trophies as possible,” he remarked.
Kim, who has 49 caps for South Korea, played at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
He scored two goals in 45 appearances for Napoli.
