Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev upon his arrival in Baku on Thursday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

A later statement by the Azerbaijani presidency said that Aliyev and Fidan emphasized the successful development of bilateral relations in all fields during the meeting.

It further said that the meeting underlined mutual visits and contacts at the heads of state and other levels contributed to further strengthening of cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

“During the conversation, confidence was expressed that our relations will be further strengthened in all directions,” the statement also said, adding that exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest.

Fidan will also meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.
