The Vatican listed abortion, euthanasia, and surrogate motherhood as violations of human dignity, the Vatican News agency reported on Monday.
The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith’s new document titled “Dignitas Infinita” also identifies war, poverty, and human trafficking as grave violations of human dignity.
The document also includes “all offences against human dignity, such as subhuman living conditions, arbitrary imprisonment, deportation, slavery, prostitution, the selling of women and children, degrading working conditions where individuals are treated as mere tools for profit rather than free and responsible persons”.
The document also denounced gender theory as extremely dangerous “since it cancels differences in its claim to make everyone equal.”
As one of the oldest and most influential institutions of the Vatican, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith is responsible for promoting and protecting Catholic doctrine and morality.
