The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 12.2% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,100,501 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,077 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 35,208 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production reached 1,092,012 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 13% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21.4% and 14.1%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 7,663 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 16,153 megawatt-hours.
