Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday announced the signing of James Maddison from Leicester City on a five-year contract.
“Earning recognition for his outstanding performances, James claimed numerous personal accolades throughout 2017/18, including the Championship Young Player of the Month award for January, 2018, and the Championship Goal of the Month award for September, 2017, and January, 2018,” the English club said in a statement.
“In addition to being nominated for the EFL Young Player of the Season, he was also named in both the Championship and PFA Team of the Year,” it added.
Maddison helped the Foxes to claim the 2021 English FA Cup and the 2022 English Super Cup.
The 26-year-old midfielder has played three matches for England so far.
He previously made appearances for Coventry City, Norwich City, and Aberdeen FC.
Meanwhile, Maddison became the club’s new head coach Ange Postecoglou’s second arrival of the summer.
The financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
