Bayern Munich hammer Mainz 6-2 in Bundesliga

Bayern Munich hammered Mainz 05 6-2 in a German Bundesliga week 12 game on Saturday.

Bayern climbed to the league summit with one extra match played.

Serge Gnabry drew first blood early for Bayern in the fifth minute at Allianz Arena.

Jamal Musiala scored the second goal for the Munich club in the 28th minute and Sadio Mane netted the third in the 43rd minute.

Before the first half concluded, Silvan Widmer took one back for Mainz in the 49th minute and made it 3-1.

The Bavarian club did not back down in the second half as Leon Goretzka scored in the 58th minute.

Bayern’s Mathys Tel put another one into its opponents’ net but three minutes later, Marcus Ingvartsen of Mainz responded in kind and made it 5-2.

Maxim Choupo-Moting declared the final score of 6-2 with his goal in the 86th minute.

Bayern Munich lead the Bundesliga standings, as former leader Union Berlin are yet to play against Monchengladbach on Sunday, while, Mainz 05 placed eighth with 18 points.
