Zlatan Ibrahimovic called up to Sweden squad for Euro 2024 qualifiers

ANKARA

Veteran star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was included in the list of players for Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Belgium and Azerbaijan when the Swedish Football Association announced the squad on Wednesday.

Ibrahimovic, 41, made his return to the national team after a long break. His last cap was at the 2022 World Cup European qualifying round matches in 2021.

Head coach Janne Andersson said Ibrahimovic has been in “decent shape” even though he had been away.

The AC Milan striker underwent an operation on his left knee last May and could not play until last month.

Ibrahimovic, who is the all-time scorer of Sweden with 62 goals, made 121 appearances for the national team.
