ANKARA
Lithuanian basketball club Zalgiris Kaunas overpowered Fenerbahce Beko 86-66 in a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game Thursday as the Turkish team were handed their fifth straight loss.
Eighth-place Zalgiris picked up their ninth win in 17 rounds.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahce Beko have a 10-7 win/loss record to come sixth in the EuroLeague standings.
Ignas Brazdeikis and Tomas Dimsa scored 17 points each to lead Zalgiris at Zalgirio Arena.
Laurynas Birutis produced 15 points for Zalgiris.
Fenerbahce Beko was led by Devin Booker scoring 10 points. Booker was the only Fenerbahce Beko player to have scored in double digits.
In the next game, Fenerbahce Beko will visit Greek team Panathinaikos in Athens on Jan. 10.
On the same day, Zalgiris will play against Virtus Segafredo Bologna in Italy.
