Fenerbahce’s young Turkish football star Arda Guler has made headlines in Spain.
The Spanish press is discussing the possible move of the Turkish international to two Spanish Powerhouses; Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Spanish sports daily Marca carried the headline: “Real Madrid takes Guler from Barca”, while Spanish sports site Sport wrote: “Key day in the future of Guler.” Another sports daily As carried the story: “Guler chooses Real Madrid.” Weekly El Mundo Deportivo flashed: “Guler Day at Real Madrid.”
Spanish newspapers claimed that Fenerbahce’s 18-year-old star is about to join Real Madrid for about €20 million ($21.7 million) after club president Florentino Perez made a much higher offer than Barcelona to Guler.
Calling Guler a great talent, the newspapers claimed that the Turkish international turned down offers from Barcelona, Sevilla and Milan and chose Real Madrid, but the option to play for another team for one season is still on the table.
