ANKARA
Basel beat Fiorentina and West Ham United defeated AZ Alkmaar both 2-1 in UEFA Europa Conference League semifinal first leg matches Thursday.
Brazilian forward Arthur Cabral brought the lead to Fiorentina in the 25th minute at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Basel’s French forward Andy Diouf leveled the score in the 71st minute, then Mohamed Zeki Amdouni tallied the winning goal in the 92nd minute.
In the other match of the night, Mohamed Said Benrahma scored from a penalty kick in the 67th minute and Michail Antonio netted in the 75th minute both for West Ham United at London Stadium.
AZ’s only goal came from Tijjani Reijnders in the 41st minute.
The second leg matches of semifinals will be held on May 18.
