June 20, 2026 5:55 amThe oil rig count in the US posted no change this week, according to the latest data released by oilfield services company Baker Hughes on Thursday.
The number of oil rigs, an indicator of short-term production in the country, held steady at 433 for the week ending June 18. The weekly data was released on June 18 instead of Friday due to Juneteenth, the June 19 federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the US.
The number of US oil rigs decreased by 5 compared to one year ago.
The price of international benchmark Brent crude futures stood at $80.57 per barrel at Friday’s close, while American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was at $76.51 a barrel.
