US factory orders up 0.3% in September, in line with estimates

ANKARA

US factory orders rose 0.3% in September, coming in line with estimates, the Commerce Department said Thursday.

New orders for manufactured goods increased $1.5 billion to $551 billion, which is up 11 of the last 12 months.

While the market expected a gain of 0.3%, the August figure was revised to $549.5 billion — a 0.2% increase.

New durable goods orders rose $1.1 billion, or 0.4%, to $274.9 billion, after posting a 0.2% gain in August.

Transportation equipment led the gains with $2 billion, or 2.2%, rising to $95.5 billion.

New orders for manufactured nondurable goods increased $0.5 billion, or 0.2%, to reach $276.1 billion.
