Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on Friday discussed the situation on the frontline and upcoming diplomatic gatherings with his French counterpart, Jean-Noel Barrot.
“I spoke with my French colleague and friend @jnbarrot to congratulate France on assuming the G7 Presidency,” Sybiha said on US social media company X.
He noted that the two diplomats highlighted the “pivotal role of the G7 in mobilizing broad international support for Ukraine.”
During the call, the top Ukrainian diplomat briefed Barrot on the situation on the ground, claiming there is a “devastating impact of Russia’s terror against civilians.”
Sybiha further expressed gratitude to Paris for its leadership in bolstering Ukraine’s defense and advancing efforts toward a “just and lasting peace,” specifically mentioning the upcoming “leaders’ summit of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris on Jan. 6.”
