UEFA Nations League to resume with big games after 1-month absence

ISTANBUL

Following a one-month absence, the UEFA Nations League campaign will return to action with some eye-catching games on Thursday.

One of the most highly anticipated clashes of the week will see the Azzurri hosting Belgium at Stadio Olimpico at 1845 GMT. Norway’s Espen Eskas has been appointed to referee the League A Group A2 game.

Collecting six points, Italy began the campaign with two victories from two games ahead of second-place France and Belgium, who collected three points.

Italy, four-time World Cup winners, and twice European champions, defeated Israel and 2021 winners France in their opener in September.

The Belgians kicked off their Nations League with a 3-1 win over Israel but lost to France with a 2-0 result.

Israel are bottom of the table without a point.

In another Thursday fixture, England will host Greece at Wembley Stadium, with the match scheduled to kick off at 1845GMT.

The game will be officiated by Andrea Colombo, a referee from Germany.

In Group B2, first-place Greece and second-place England collected six points, while the Republic of Ireland and Finland have yet to secure a point.

The 2024/25 UEFA Nations League will conclude with the final on June 8, 2025.
