Türkiye’s stock exchange up at Monday close

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index rose 0.55% to close Monday at 4,839.46 points, ending a two-session losing streak.

Starting the week at 4,806.4 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 26.53 points compared to last week’s close.

The index’s lowest value during the day was 4,680.46, while its daily high was 4,851.69.

The BIST 100’s total market value was around 4 trillion Turkish liras ($209.7 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 54 billion liras ($2.8 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,007.30, while Brent crude oil sold for around $84.47 per barrel as of 6.48 p.m. local time (1548GMT).
