Türkiye’s stock exchange jumps to all-time high at Tuesday’s close

ANKARA 

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index rallied to an all-time high of 2,913.30 points at Tuesday’s close, up 1.62% on a daily basis.

After starting the day at 2,876.03 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 56.12 points from Monday’s close of 2,857.18 points.

During the day, the index’s lowest value was 2,773.06, while its daily high was 2,913.30.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2.3 trillion Turkish liras ($129 billion) by its close, with a daily trading volume of nearly 66 billion liras ($3.7 billion).

One ounce of gold traded at $1,765 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $92.8 per barrel as of 19.20 p.m. local time (1620GMT), down 2.4% on a daily basis on fears of weak oil demand due to a global downturn.
