Türkiye’s oil imports up 5.15% in July 2024

​​​​​​​Türkiye’s total oil imports increased by 5.15% to 4.33 million tons in July 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, according to recent data released by the country’s energy watchdog on Monday.

Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, rise by 8.19% in July to 2.61 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.

Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in July, totaling 1.58 million tons. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 387,115 tons and 214,847 tons, respectively.

Oil refinery product exports increased by 13.48% to 1.14 million tons.

Additionally, domestic oil product sales decreased by 8% year over year in July to 2.96 million tons.
