Türkiye’s total imports of petroleum and petroleum products increased by 15.23% year over year in June to around 4.83 million tons, according to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority’s oil market sector report on Monday.
Crude oil, which constitutes the largest item in Türkiye’s total oil imports, decreased by 2.56% to about 3.09 million tons in June.
The import of diesel fuel, however, increased substantially to 1.3 million tons, up by 68.28% from June 2022.
Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in June, totaling around 2.66 million tons. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with about 1.07 million tons and 385,852 tons, respectively.
In June, domestic gasoline sales rose by 57.35% year over year to 375,193 tons, and diesel sales also increased by 14.06% to around 2.22 million tons.
The quantity of petroleum product sales increased by 17.65% to about 2.73 million tons.
– Exports of petroleum products decrease by 10.41%
Türkiye’s aviation fuel exports fell by 1.99%, while maritime fuel exports dropped by 18.09% and gasoline exports dipped by 77.86% in June, although diesel exports increased by 2.48%.
Overall, exports in the oil market contracted by 10.41% year over year to around 1.04 million tons in June.
The production of refinery petroleum products dropped to 3.17 million tons, down by 5.01% year over year.
