Türkiye’s home sales dip 11.8% in April

ANKARA

Home sales in Türkiye dove 11.8% from a year ago in April, according to data released on Friday.

A total of 75,569 residential properties were sold last month, significantly down from 105,394 in March and 85,652 in April 2023, TurkStat said.

Property purchases by foreign nationals plunged 50.3% year-on-year to 1,272 units this April.

The Mediterranean resort city of Antalya had the largest share of sales to foreign buyers with 454 deals.

Istanbul, Türkiye’s most populous city, followed with 407 units, while the southern province of Mersin placed third with 149.

Russians topped the list of non-native buyers, purchasing 293 properties followed by Iranians with 117 and Ukrainians with 91.
