Türkiye’s energy import bill down 0.3% in January

Türkiye’s energy import bill decreased 0.3% to $8.79 billion in January compared to the same month of 2022, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Monday.

The data shows that the overall import bill in January, including energy and other items, totaled $33.60 billion.

At $8.79 billion, energy accounted for 26.1% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in January.

Crude oil imports showed a 13.5% decrease to 2.25 million tons of crude in January, compared to 2.60 million tons in January 2022.
