Türkiye’s economic confidence index remained unchanged from a month ago in September, according to the country’s statistical authority on Thursday.
The index was stable at 94.3 in September, following a 1% rise in August, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said in a statement.
All sub-indexes posted a rise in the month except for the real sector.
The retail trade confidence index increased 2.7% month-on-month to 115.9 in September, improved from August’s 0.4% decrease.
Despite rising 2.1% compared to August, the construction confidence index was still below 100 in September, at 88.1.
The services confidence index saw a monthly hike of 1.7% to 118.2 versus a 1.3% decline in the previous month.
The index for consumer confidence increased slightly by 0.3% to 72.4 this month, after surging 6.1% in August.
On the other hand, the real sector – manufacturing industry – confidence index fell for the eighth consecutive month, down 1.2% on a monthly basis to 100.2 in September.
A rating above 100 indicates an optimistic outlook for the overall economic situation, while a value below 100 suggests a negative assessment.
