Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 9.6% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 667,225 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 32,597 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 21,760 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 678,897 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 10.2% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from wind plants constituted 22.6% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and imported coal plants contributed 17% and 14.1%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 14,135 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 2,464 megawatt-hours.
