Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 6.57%

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 6.57% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 984,673 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,080 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,845 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 978,081 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 5.56% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.06% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 24.05% and 13.66%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,015 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 11,607 megawatt-hours.
