Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 4.9% on June 30

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 4.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,133,402 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 54,517 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,889 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,140,308 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of about 5% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 24% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 17.7% and 16.9%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 10,615 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,838 megawatt-hours.
