Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 3.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,127,907 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,834 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,043 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,149,846 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of about 3.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 23.6% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 20.8% and 15.1%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 22,528 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 632 megawatt-hours.
