Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 3.6% on June 29

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 3.6% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 650,213 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 31,516 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 21,399 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 650,172 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of 3.6% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from hydroelectric plants constituted 21.1% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 19.7% and 11.5%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,206 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 5,247 megawatt-hours.
