Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 3.02% on June 20

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 3.02% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 895,477 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,867 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,166 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 886,124 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 2.82% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 24% of total generation, while hydroelectric plants and lignite plants contributed 17.8% and 14.2%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,303 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 12,655 megawatt-hours.
