January 3, 2023 5:24 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 24.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 863,800 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,777megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,123 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 842,131 megawatt-hours on Monday marking an increase of 25.3% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.2% of total generation, while imported coal power plants and lignite plants contributed 27.9% and 16.1%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 9,289 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 30,958 megawatt-hours.
