Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 23.6% on June 14

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 23.6% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 818,975 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,417 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,817 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 818,975 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 27.2% compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from imported coal constituted 21.2% of total generation, while hydroelectric plants and natural gas plants contributed 19.8% and 12.8%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,316 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 12,377 megawatt-hours.
