Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 2.88% on March 7

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.88% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 879,477 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,517 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,918 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 869,685 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 2.95% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 23.4% of total generation, while natural gas and wind plants contributed 19.6% and 14%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,237 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,029 megawatt-hours.
