Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 2.88% on Aug. 3

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.88% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1.07 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,191 megawatt-hours at 03.00 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,343 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1.06 million megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 2.91% compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 20.7% and 15.8%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 9,439 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,939 megawatt-hours.
