Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 17.3% on April 22

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 17.3% on Tuesday, compared to the previous day, totaling 906,993 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,603 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,950 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 907,796 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 3.11% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from natural gas constituted 18.9 of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity contributed 17.4% and 17%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,070 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 5,272 megawatt-hours.
