Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 16% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 969,187 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,766 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,895 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 986,214 megawatt-hours on Monday marking an increase of 15.3% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.8% of total generation, while imported coal and hydropower plants contributed 23.1% and 13.7%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 17,674 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 647 megawatt-hours.
