Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 15.7% on April 28

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 15.7% on Monday, compared to the previous day, totaling 881,392 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,918 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,079 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 878,599 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 15.4% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from wind plants constituted 24.6% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and solar plants contributed 15.2% and 12.8%, respectively.

On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,282 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,091 megawatt-hours.
