Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 15.68% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 888,731 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,051 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,628 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 881,112 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 16.05% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 21.8% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite contributed 17.9% and 12%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,447 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,091 megawatt-hours.
