July 11, 2023 8:01 amThe daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 14% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 962,570 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,585 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,532 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production reached 954,172 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14.2% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 23.7% of total generation, while natural gas plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 15.2% and 13.8%, respectively.
On Monday the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,499 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 14,896 megawatt-hours.
