October 25, 2022 7:30 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 14.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 807,367 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 38,813 megawatt-hours at 12.00 a.m. local time (0900 GMT) and the country’s electricity consumption fell to 25,819 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 796,138 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 15.5% compared to Sunday.
Imported coal plants contributed 29.4% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite power plants contributed 21.5% and 14.2%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 16,554 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 27,783 megawatt-hours.
