Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 14.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 988,942 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,550 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,034 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,002,603 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas constituted 26.1% of total generation, while imported coal and wind power plants contributed 22.4% and 15.2%, respectively.
On Monday the country’s electricity exports amounted to 15,589 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,938 megawatt-hours.
