Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 14.5% on June 12

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 14.5% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 846,396 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,430 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 25,390 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 839,722 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 15% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from imported coal constituted 21.5% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and lignite plants contributed 17.8% and 13.8%, respectively.

On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,738 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,412 megawatt-hours.
