Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 12.4% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 947,551 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,197 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,771 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 966,523 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of about 12.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from hydroelectric power plants accounted for around 22.3% of total generation, while wind power plants and imported coal plants contributed 20.4% and 17.3%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 20,994 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,966 megawatt-hours.
