December 25, 2024 4:26 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 1.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,007,793 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,682 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,503 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,023,499 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 2.1% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from natural gas constituted 26.3% of total generation, while imported coal and wind power plants contributed 22.6% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Tuesday the country’s electricity exports amounted to 16,357 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 653 megawatt-hours.
