Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 1.7% on Feb. 15

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 1.74% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 928,103 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,418 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,353 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 915,405 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 2.0% compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind energy plants contributed 21.8% and 14.9% respectively.

On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 9,848 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 22,545 megawatt-hours.
