Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 1.5% on Dec. 20

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.4% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,033,717 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,112 megawatt-hours at 12 a.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,358 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,020,231 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a rise of 1.2% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.1% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 23.1% and 12.7%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 14,999 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,445 megawatt-hours.
